No breach by Kingston College (KC) was the word by the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) in an official response to complaints made by Vauxhall High School’s head coach, Kyle Butler, following an investigation into concerns about a possible quota breach on Monday.
The letter addressed to the Principal of the Vauxhall was shared by the online sports media outlet YardBeat Sports, noted that all players in question were legitimately registered in accordance with ISSA rules.
” A check of our registration database identifies all four students as being legitimately registered by Kingston College. The system has also verified that one of the four students who started representing Kingston College in 2025 having being admitted to 6th Form from a private institution was designated as a Non-Quota player although he was previously registered by a ISSA Member School in the 2021-2022 academic year during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
ISSA further explained that the removal of a quota player “was removed prior to his registration and participation as a Kingston College player in 2025.” “Our records indicate that the removal of the quota designation was as a result of the fact that there is no evidence of him representing any ISSA”
Following Vauchall’s 3-0 defeat by KC on Saturday, Butler took to social media to share a series of posts questioning the legitimacy of players used by KC’s squad. The posts not only challenged the school’s compliance but also suggested the institution benefited from favouritism.
Following Monday’s letter, Butler has since challenged ISSA’s findings, sharing that they compeling evidnce that would warrant and overturning of the ruling.
