The West Indies will put their unbeaten record in the 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup to the test when they face rivals England in the opening fixture of the Super 8 round at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, St Lucia, on Wednesday.
The Windies, who replaced England as the number three team in the world over the weekend, will be looking to verify that status with victory over the former champs on Wednesday.
The tournament co-hosts, who concluded a perfect run in Group C with a victory over Afghanistan on Monday, will be seeking to consolidate their outside favourites tag with a morale-boosting start to the round.
The fixture will be the first of three games in the round, including fixtures against South Africa and tournament co-host, USA.
The match time is set for 7:30 pm.
The top two teams will advance to the semi-finals of the competition.
