Motorists sprang into action to help rescue passengers in a private jet following a crash along a highway in Texas on Tuesday night.

The incident, which was caught on camera, shows the plane slamming into the ground before a section of the aircraft later bursts into flames.

Passersby, who noticed the crash, however, acted quickly and bravely to assist emergency personnel in forcing open the doors of the downed plane and extracting the persons inside before the fire spread to the other section of the wreckage. The celebration of survivors was, however, tempered by the news of at least one casualty, as news of one passing due to smoke inhalation.

Despite the unfortunate loss of life, the casualties were significantly reduced due to the selfless act by motorists, who have been praised for their efforts.

It remains unclear what caused the reason for the crash. Investigations are currently on the way.
