After a five year hiatus, the Jazz and Blues festival, which was slated to be held on the last weekend in January, has been rescheduled.
The event will now take place from March 4 to 6.
According to reports, COVID-19 concerns prevented some international acts from participating in the festival, based on the necessity to observe the attending protocols in the cities that they reside.
Lila Ike, Sevana, Richie Stephens, Jah9, Cuban-American singer Jon Secada and Tessellated are confirmed as performers for this year’s staging.
Under the theme Bringing Back The Magic, organisers of the festival promised to return to the scene
“with the music, the passion and the one-of-a-kind experiences that our fans have become accustomed to – sharing the beauty, the culture and the vibe of Jamaica with the world.”
The Jamaica Jazz and Blues is not the first event to be recently affected by the COVID-19 restrictions as the 2021 Grammys, originally scheduled for January 31, was also postponed to March.
