Noted entrepreneur Rohan Marley is known for his business acumen, diversifying and expanding the family brand globally. Before his sojourn into the business world, he was a professional American Football player.

Rohan Marley, who oversees several Marely brands and associated businesses, played professionally as a linebacker for the Canada-based team Ottawa Rough Riders in the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 1995.

The Jamaican signed on the team following his stand-out collegiate Football career at the University of Miami, where he studied Sociology. Marley, who showed similar athleticism in sports as his father, the legendary Bob Marley, led the Hurricanes with 95 tackles in his senior before joining the professional ranks.

Despite what seemed to be a promising career in sports, he ultimately decided to go with a more compelling passion of being in the family business following his rookie year, Defend the R reports.

“Every day, whether we practiced or played, once I got home, I would play soccer. After that, I would spend a lot of time reading the Bible, and while I was reading the Bible, Marley shared, adding, “I found that my passion for the game started to drift away from the team and more towards myself.”

He continued, “I lost my passion for tackling. The more I read the Bible, the more I was taken away from the game.”

Marley would go on to help launch successful expansions like Marley Coffee, Lion Order Collective and House of Marley Electronics among other family-based endeavours.
