Curfew imposed in St Catherine amid heavy gun violence

A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in sections of Spanish Town, St Catherine following a flare of gun violence linked to the One Order Gang which claimed the lives of three men.

The curfew which commenced at 6:00 p.m. last evening will be imposed in Tawes Pen, Job Lane, 31 St John’s Road, and Railway Lane.

Reports indicate armed assailants shot six persons, killing two, during a gun battle which started just after 2 o’clock. A third individual was also fatally shot by a policeman. However, the injured persons are said to be in stable condition.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Major Antony Anderson outlined that the gangsters behind yesterday’s deadly shootings are also linked to shootings carried out in 31 St. John’s Road, Job Lane, Tawes Pen, and Railway Lane.

While the other killings are as a result of two rival parts of a gang engaging each other.

In the interim, movement in the parish will be restricted during the curfew.
