Crowdfunding platform “GoFundMe,” says it is “monitoring” the emergence of Drake-related funeral and troll pages on its site in the wake of the rapper’s current rap feud with Kendrick Lamar.
“We can confirm we are monitoring the platform for related fundraiser starts and will remove any that have not been authorized by the recipient of the funds,” a GoFundMe representative told TMZ
The statement comes hours following reports of fake accounts meant to troll the Toronto-born rapper appeared on Tuesday.
The trolls, who have declared Lamar the winner in the ongoing battle, titled the accounts with grim satire about his supposed loss.
“Join the Love Fund for Drake’s Send-Off” and “RIP Drake(champagnepapi): Fans Unite in Grief” are some of the titles that have been circulating of which GoFundMe has removed those links from the website.
The GoFundMe representative said to the outlet that no money had been successfully raised from these jokingly launched pages.
The rivalry between Drake and Kendrick has dominated the music landscape for approximately three weeks, with eight different diss tracks, two also occupying the top three spots of most streamed songs on US iTunes.
