A 2-year- old boy is among the four victims that were shot by armed assailants in Hillary Avenue off Red Hills Road in St. Andrew this morning.

Two of the four victims however succumbed to their injuries while the remaining two have been admitted in stable condition.

Head of the JCF’s Corporate Communications Unit, Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay indicated that around 8:00 a.m., four persons were seated in a taxi when they were approached by armed men who opened fire.

Subsequently both the driver and a male passenger succumbed to the injuries sustained while the remaining victims were transported to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched by investigators to ascertain the motive for the shooting as well as  the identities of the victims.
