Fireworks are expected at the Xiamen Diamond League following the confirmation of former 100m World Champion Yohan Blake, 60 meters World Indoor Bronze medalist Ackeem Blake, 110m Olympic Champion Hansle Parchment, 100 hurdles World Champion Danielle Williams and Olympic Bronze medalist Megan Tapper for the meet in China on Saturday.

In what will be the first of back-to-back weeks of athletics excitement in China, the Jamaicans are among the headliners expected to deliver the star power starting this week.

Williams and Tapper will be among a star-studded line up in the women’s 100m hurdles, which includes World Record holder and former World Champion Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, Cuba’s Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn.

Newly crowned World Indoor 60 metre Champion and world record holder Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas is also confirmed for the super showdown.

The men’s event is also expected to be entertaining with Olympic Champion Parchment and countryman Orlando Bennett among the favourites for podium places, along with American pair- Daniel Robert and Cordell Tinch.

The main event, the Men’s 100m, will see training partners Yohan Blake and Ackeem Blake renew their rivalry with former World Champions Fred Kerley and Christian Coleman. Jamaica’s fast riser Rohan Watson will also aim to make a statement in the contention for a top position in China.

World Championship shot put medalist Danniel Thomas-Dodd and high jumper Christoff Bryan will be the other Jamaicans active on the day.
