US Sprinter Christian Coleman believes “there are a lot of guys competing today not that far off” from Usain Bolt’s 9.58 seconds 100m world record.
The sprinter made the bold statement while fielding questions during a press conference on Friday ahead of the Shanghai Diamond League set for Saturday.
Coleman, who has a personal best of 9.76 set back in 2019, believes he is among a group of athletes capable of challenging the astronomical world mark set by the Jamaican sprint legend.
Coleman, the 2024 World Indoor 60-meter champion, is set to be among the headliners for the men’s 100m at the Diamond League meeting, which will also include fellow former world champions Fred Kerley, Yohan Blake and sprint sensation Ackeem Blake of Jamaica.
