Chelsea’s impressive financial acumen during the 2026 Summer transfer was furher underscored the following reports of the club setting a single-window world record in player sales.

Following Tuesday’s summer transfer deadline, concluding the summer window, the London club raked in upwards of £400 million or half a billion US dollars, in transfer fees to shatter the previous record of £309 million set by French Club AS Monaco durng the 2018/19 season.

Chelsea’s sensational haul was fueled largely by the sale of World Cup-winning Spanish defender Marcus Cucurella to Real Madrid for £51.8 million and the British transfer record-equalling transfer of Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández to Manchester City for £125 million.

That latter also makes personal history as the first player to be sold twice for over 100 million euros.

The news marks a positive start for Chelsea this season, who have been unbeaten in their opening two games under new manager Xabi Alonso as they aim for a serious run at the title this year.
