Embattled Police Constable Noel Maitland who was charged with the murder of 24-year-old Social Media Influencer Donna-Lee Donaldson was denied bail when he appeared in the Home Circuit Court this morning.

This comes after Prosecutors painted the accused as a calculated killer who went through great lengths to conceal the crime. In addition, the prosecution also opposed bail out of concern that the accused may tamper with the case.

The prosecution also outlined that Donaldson’s death may have been stemmed from an argument between the two over a photograph of Maitland’s baby mother that was on display in his apartment.

When Maitland appeared in court last week, an additional charge of preventing the lawful burial of a corpse.

The decision was rendered by Justice Vinnett Graham Allen this afternoon after submissions were brought forward from both defense attorney Christopher Townsend and the prosecution.

Maitland was arrested on Thursday July 28, after forensic evidence proved that the blood found in his apartment belonged to Donna Lee Donaldson.

DCP Bailey also outlined that there was sufficient evidence linking Maitland to the crime.
