“I hate to be this personal, but I think this may be good for some older guys who may or may not listen to this,” said Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden as he revealed his cancer diagnosis.

The veteran actor most known for his role as Victor Newman, made the revelation during an emotional Facebook live session on Friday.

In the 13-minute video, Braeden,82, noted the discovery was made while doing a checkup for prostate issues he began to experience while recuperating from a recent knee-replacement surgery.

High-grade cancer cells were discovered near his bladder, the Emmy winner explained.

He added that he’s now undergoing treatment for the cells along with a six-week immunotherapy treatment plan.

Despite the diagnosis, the veteran actor was upbeat about beating the illness.

“This bastard ain’t going to get me, I’m going to get it. I’ll be in top form again soon.”

“So that’s where I am right now,” he continued while sharing that he intends to continue in his role as the iconic character Victor Newman despite the diagnosis.

“I love acting. I entertain people. I love your support,” said Braeden as he got emotional during his thought.

“So, whenever you have someone in the family who goes through this, support them. It can work out. Nowadays, there is so much advancement in cancer treatment, you can survive it.”

Breaden has been part of the popular ‘Soap’ since 1980 as a guest character before his role evolved into one of the most notable faces in Daytime drama, for which he won the 1988 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
