Social media platform X(formerly Twitter) has begun hiding likes for users on its platform as part of the new changes in the company’s policies.

In a statement from X’s engineering team released on Tuesday noted that “Likes” will be private for all users.

According to the statement, the move is intended to “better protect” users’ privacy.

According to X, users will still be able to see posts you have liked, but others won’t be able to. The like count and other metrics for ‘personal’ posts will still appear under notifications. The post author will still be able to know who liked the content

It’s the second noted change by the platform within weeks following X’s recent policy update, which officially allowed users to post adult content without being removed or flagged.
