Two sisters from Madison County Illinois were shot and killed on Saturday following what was deemed as a domestic affair gone awry.

The deceased have been identified as Jamie Joiner, 30, and her sister Jessica Joiner, 34.

According to reports, both victims were shot and killed after Jamie attempted to move out of her ex-boyfriend Adam Cobbs’ house.

It is also believed that Jamie had informed Cobbs of her plans to move following their breakup; however, approximately 45 minutes after the statement was uttered, Cobbs opened fire on both Jaimie and her sister Jessica killing them on spot.

Following the shooting, Cobbs fled to Montgomery County but was subsequently chased by police officers.

In the interim, Cobb allegedly pointed a gun toward a tenured Illinois State Police trooper, who fired his own weapon and struck the suspect.

Cobb was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and pronounced dead at 4:40 a.m. on  Sunday.

Meanwhile, Madison County Chief Deputy Sheriff Jeff Connor indicated that a “large caliber” gun found with Cobb is believed to be the same weapon that was used to kill the sisters.

As it now stands, the officer involved shooting is still undergoing investigation.
