Golden State Warriors returned to winning in the most emphatic of fashion after thrashing the San Antonio Spurs 144-112 in front of an NBA record attendance for an NBA game in San Antonio.
The game which saw Steph Curry back on the court for the reining champs was in any bother by the Spurs as they put on a show for record opposing fans.
Led by Jordan Poole who has 25 points on the night Golden State had bagged all four quarters: 33-28, 41-32, 40-29, and 30-24, as they played like a team reborn with Curry’s return.
The reigning finals MVP who had missed the past month due to a shoulder injury made a controlled re-entry to support with 15 points and three assists of his own, playing with a heavily strapped shoulder sleeve.
Donte DiVincenzo, with 25 points and seven rebounds was among the more active players for the Warriors while Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson both shared 16 points each on the night to cruise to an empathic victory.
The win Golden State’s 21st of the season snaps three consecutive losses on the trot as they move to sixth in the Western Conference.
They’ll be shooting for back-to-back wins on Sunday when they travel to Chicago to face the Bulls at the United Arena.
