A 32-year-old English teacher affiliated with the Tabb High School in York Virginia; USA has been charged with having an illicit relationship with a student in 2021.

The accused, Kristen McCallister has been charged with two felony counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship and two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A press release from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office revealed that Sheriff’s Office received a report last Wednesday of an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and students.

Following this, an investigation was carried out which revealed that the accused was involved with a male student.

In the interim, McCallister has not entered pleas and was subsequently released on bond.

Meanwhile, the York County Division has outlined in a statement that it will work closely with the Sheriff’s department until the investigation has been concluded.

In addition, the school has outlined that McCallister has been barred from entering the school’s compound.

“The division is committed to working closely with the Sheriff’s Office in the ongoing investigation. The staff member will not be permitted on campus or other YCSD property while this investigation is ongoing and we will follow division policy regarding employment status.”
