Canadian-born rapper Tory Lanez was on Friday found guilty by an LA jury on all three charges in connection to the shooting of female rapper Megan thee Stallion and now faces a maximum of 22 years behind bars and deportation.

In Friday’s conclusion of a roughly two-week-long trial which began on December 12, Lanez real name Daystar Peterson was unanimously voted guilty on the counts of guilty of discharging a firearm with gross negligence, assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

The Jury of 12- seven females and five males returned and sided with the prosecution that Peterson did in fact shoot at and injured Megan thee Stallion real name Megan Pete following an altercation in Beverly Hills.

Megan accused Lanez of shooting her in the foot after she exited a vehicle they had been riding in following an argument on in 2020

Among the standout revelations from the case includes the Houston rapper reportedly recalling Lanez yelling  “Dance, b***h,” before allegedly firing at her in a  tear-filled testimony, according to Billboard. “I froze. I just felt shock. I felt hurt. I looked down at my feet and I see all of this blood.”

Megan “showed incredible courage and vulnerability” during her testimony “despite repeated and grotesque attacks,” LA County DA George Gascón said in a statement following the verdict CNN reports.

“You faced unjust and despicable scrutiny that no woman should ever face and you have been an inspiration to others across LA County and the nation,” he said, in reference to Megan.

“Women, especially Black women, are afraid to report crimes like assault and sexual violence because they are too often not believed.”

“ This trial, for the second time this month, highlighted the numerous ways that our society must do better for women,” Gascón added, referring to Harvey Weinstein being found guilty of three out of seven charges on Monday.

Lanez is now facing over 20 years in prison and deportation. He’s scheduled to be sentenced next month on January 27th, 2023, according to TMZ.
