A sequel to the critically acclaimed 2006 comedy “The Devil Wears Prada” is reportedly in the works for development at Disney.
News of the follow-up to the beloved franchise was revealed on Monday, with Award-winning actress Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt set to reprise their iconic roles as Miranda Priestly and Emily Charlton, according to Variety

Anticipation over the franchise’s return was heightened following reports of the original film’s screenwriter- Aline Brosh McKenna, who was also linked to the reunion.
While several noted returnees have been linked to the project, the film’s original Co-lead Ann Hathaway, who played “Andy,” a journalist who takes the job of assistant to Miranda Priestley, remains uncertain.
Based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel about a young woman’s hellish experience working at a fashion magazine, “The Devil Wears Prada” became a box office hit and cult classic, landing Streep a Golden Globe for Best Actress In a Comedy, as well as an Academy Award nomination.
