Teejay‘s long-awaited EP-“I Am Chippy,” made a commanding start to its release after becoming the number one downloaded project in Reggae on iTunes hours following its drop on Friday.

Powered by tracks such as Billboard hit “Drift” and the new release “Dip,” the ten-track project, released at midnight, was almost immediately catapulted to the summit of purchases in the Reggae albums category.

The Dancehall release, which boasts several noted features such as Tommy Lee Sparta, Bayka, Skillibeng and Mailie Donn, has also climbed among the top four most streamed projects on Apple Music among the Reggae albums.

The opening placings on the platforms seemingly verify his decision to delay its original release in 2023.

“I Am Chippy,” Teejay’s first release under Warner Music Records, creates a solid platform leading up to his debut album, which is scheduled for release later this year.
