Embattled Dancehall star Squash is proving that his legal woes have done little to impede the success of his music as his “Hate Being Famous” EP becomes the number one most-streamed release on Apple Music’s Top Reggae Albums Chart.

The nine-track project has been a steady riser since its release on May 16. Buoyed by the viral reception of its lead single “know Bout Dat”, hype around the EP’s drop carried over into full streams, underlining the strength and loyalty of his fanbase, reflected in the chart-topping placement.

The “6ix” boss, who is reportedly navigating legal wrangling with US law enforcement in connection with firearms possession allegations, has again been a standout presence in the Dancehall space over the past year, delivering several major drops, including a song of the year contender “, Big Breeze” and “Get Up”.

With at least five songs from the EP pulling over 100,000 streams, including “Know Bout Dat” pulling upwards of 2.5 million after one month and 501,000 by Burn in its first five days.
