St Thomas Eastern Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Michelle Charles is coming under heavy criticisms for doing what a number of persons describes as the “bare minimum“.

This came on a long list of posts she made, documenting and showing work being done in the parish, especially on the South Coastal Highway Improvement Project, which sent tongues wagging.

One such user commented saying “So a one side a the road fix” using the laughing face emoji and said “Well a win is a win”, Dr. Charles clapped back using the same laughing face emoji and wrote “No Silly. Both are complete now. Drive and see”

Many others commented, criticising the first-time MP hard about the manner in which she responds to those who share their views about her work as an MP.

Dr. Michelle Charles who is also a dentist is seen on social media using jargons from dentistry to reply to those not in support of her as a Member of Parliament. She replied telling the user to see her for “some restorations.”

In the meantime, another social media user advised the MP to refrain from commenting and to take a page out of the books of former Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and current Prime Minister, Andrew Holness as they are always professional and never seen clapping back at those they are representing.

Up to the time of reporting, the MP’s latest video posted on her Tik Tok sees her hitting back at a user who argues that Charles should not be a public figure or role model.

The St Thomas Eastern Member of Parliament has since disabled the comments on a number of her very recent posts.

Dr. Charles’ political career began in 2020 and since her tenure, she has successfully completed several road improvement projects, community rehabilitation and de-bushing exercises within her constituency of St. Thomas Eastern. More recently the first time MP was lauded for overseeing the completion of the Bath Fountain Hotel and Spa Road Rehabilitation project.

The Member of Parliament has been an active user of social media platforms particularly Tik Tok and has been criticised heavily for her eccentric style and character, transparent posts to include both her personal life and progress reports on her work as a politician.
