Pop star Rihanna says she had 39 versions of her potential setlist for her epic Super Bowl halftime show performance set for Sunday in Glendale, Arizona.

“There were probably about 39 versions of the setlist right now. We’re on our 39th,” Rihanna said while speaking during a sit-down with Apple Music’s Nadeska Alexis to discuss the immense effort she has put into the upcoming show which will be her first live performance since 2016.

“Every little change counts, whether I want a guitar cut out, something muted, something added or just put in a whole new song, or take out a whole song.”

Riri, in describing what to expect from the song noted without going into details shared it will be a celebration of her discography.

“It’s gonna be a celebration of my catalog in the best way that we could have put it together.”

“You’re trying to cram 17 years of work into 13 minutes … but I think we did a pretty good job of narrowing it down,” she said.

Rihanna and her team have been very tight-lipped in her song selections as well as possible collaborations for the show which is only up for speculation as to which hand full of the plethora of hits she would belting out on Sunday.

The Fenty also noted the difficulty in condensing the selected songs within the allotted time for her set.

“That was the hardest, hardest part — deciding how to maximize 13 minutes but also celebrate. That’s what this show’s gonna be,” she shared.

She also said that after seven years away now was the right time to return.

“It feels like it could have only been now,” she said.

“When I first got the call to do it again this year, I was like, ‘You sure?’ I’m three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this,” Rihanna said.

“But when you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you can take on the world.”

She continued “The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was because I haven’t been on stage in seven years, there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all … It’s important for my son to see that.”

Riri and her Boyfriend rapper ASAP Rocky welcomed their first child together last year to much global fanfare.

The motherhood role seemed to have possibly inspired a potential new line to her Fenty brand following reports that the mogul has recently registered the copyright for Fenty Kids
