Kendrick Lamar surpassed Drake’s Spotify record with his latest diss track titled, “Not Like Us“ as the two rappers are embroiled in one of the biggest rap beefs of the decade.
“Not Like Us,” a West Coast-inspired banger, not only shifted public perception in Lamar’s favour but also by numbers after breaking Spotify’s single-day global streaming record for a solo Hip-Hop act with over 11.8 million streams on Tuesday.
A record previously held by Drake’s track “Champaign Poetry.”
In addition to passing, Drake, Lamar broke his record on Wednesday by pulling over 11.85 million streams to reaffirm his current dominance over his musical rival.
The feat comes hours after the Compton native broke Spotify’s single-day record streams for a rap song in the US.
“Not Like Us,” which has more than 25 million views on YouTube after three days, is also the number one streamed song on Apple Music and iTunes across all genres.
