Rapper Don Toliver samples iconic Beenie Man song in latest release

King of the Dancehall Beenie Man continues to prove why his reign will forever be relevant on the global scene after rapper Don Toliver sampled one of the Jamaican deejay’s iconic hit songs for his latest track ‘4 Me’.

Toliver took the sample inspirations from Beenie’s 1996 smash- Girls Dem Sugar featuring R&B songstress Mya.

The track hailed as an international Dancehall classic continues to validate those with its latest sample by Toliver on his release.

The iconic Beenie track which solidified and synonymized the Zagga Zow and Girl Dem as trade to the Jamaican deejay is clearly evident through the rapper’s track which shows the level of identifiable pull the melodies and chords still command through generations.

The Neptunes produced track- Girls Dem Sugar peaked at number 54 on the US Billboard’s Hot 100 charts and was part of his Grammy Award-winning album- the Art of Life in 2000.

Previous samples included Cash Cobain and Mali Smith’s Thanful, Renni Rucci’s Can’t Be in Solo Lucci’s Cash Money.
