The Jamaica Public Service has advised that not all customers will receive an estimated bill for June/July.
Previously the power and energy company had sent out an advisory to all its customers last week, alerting that their bill for June/July would be estimated. However, estimates will be calculated using a customer’s last three meter readings.
According to the Director of Corporate Communications, Winsome Callum, says some of the bills being issued now for the current billing cycle (june/July) not all customers will receive estimated bills as the company has not been able to carry out meter readings at several properties across the island since the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
Since the advisory, several members of the private and public sectors have labeled the move as unconscionable. Nonetheless, the JPS has indicated that they will be issuing estimated bills mainly to those customers they have not been able to access.
