The legend of Cape Verde’s inspirational goalkeeper was further immortalised this time in the science realms following reports that a newly discovered species was named in his honour.

“Aldisa vozinha”, a red mollusk roughly 15mm in length discovered in the Caribbean Sea by Spanish researcher Jesus Orteq, was reportedly named after the Cape Verdean baller, as per The Athletic.

Vozinha shot to global stardom following his miraculous efforts in goal against former World Cup Champions Spain, helping the African Team earn a historic point in its first-ever World Cup appearance.

The team, of course, would go to produce a fairytale run in the tournament, advancing to the round before narrowly missing out on a miraculous upset of reigning Cup holders Argentina, clipped 3-2 in extra time to be knocked out at the round of 32.
