In recognition of the greatest reggae event on earth, Reggae Sumfest, Montego Bay has been declared “Sum City.”

The declaration was made by Mayor of Montego Bay Leroy Williams at the official launch of Sumfest 2023, held at the Iberostar earlier this week.

This is a major deal for the organisers of Sumfest this year as the show will celebrate 30 years of success.

Sumfest’s boss Joe Bogdanovich is pleased with the impact the show has had on many and what it will have on many to come.

This anniversary show according to the organisers, will be special aside from the star lineup, many sponsors will be creating a spectacular experience for all those who will be at the festival scheduled for July 16 – 22 in Montego Bay.

One such sponsor is Red Stripe which has been a part of every Sumfest and is planning to change the atmosphere with its special mix beer edition and its traditional iconic giant beer.

Title sponsors Caribbean Airlines have not revealed its plan but Executive Manager Alecia Cabera, says the patrons will be in for a treat at the festival.

Others are planning to add something extra special and SLEEK Lens will be there for all the action.

Meanwhile, the launch event officially revealed the poster for Sumfest 2023, which featured the weeklong events and a full list of artistes set to take the main stage.

Night 1 will feature Valiant, Masicka, the return of Vanessa Bling, the recently freed Tommy Lee, and a slew of new-era dancehall acts.

Night 2 will be a bit stronger with Grammy winner Kabaka Pyramid, Romain Virgo, Richie Spice, Morgan Heritage, and a special performance from Minister Marion Hall.
