Dancehall’s new “GOAT” Masicka has reaffirmed his status as the top striker of his generation after his latest album “Forever Reign” topped both iTunes and Apple Music’s top Reggae Album charts in the U.S within hours of its release.

“Forever Reign”, Masicka’s third official studio drop, which was released at 11:30 on Thursday night, quickly ascended to the top of the charts in the early hours on Friday morning, verifying the much-anticipated buzz around the project.

The 17-track project, which was delayed from it’s innitial 2025 release, is already proving to be worth the wait, based on early reactions from fans.

“Forever Reign” is a slight departure from the predominantly gritty, hardcore compositions of his previous works, with the Def Jam artist going for a more polished, rounded world sound in terms of production, themes, and overall structure.

The project presents a strongly reggae-influenced, melodic, flow-heavy, consciousness-aware material, his creative cocooned in a well-packaged coil of lyrical potency compelling to the global ears beyond the local listenerhip.

With names, features such as Jr Gong, Lile Ike, providing the Reggae Blend Kraff Gad, supporting with the dancehall energy and BlaqBonez adding the afrosound to the project, underline Masicka’s deliberate effort to showcase more creative boundaries sonically, lyrically, melodically and in audience appeal without diminishing his authenticity.

They said they want different flows and styles, and Masicka has delivered throughout the project. The composition, fan reaction, song structure, overall layout and themes of the project are already attracting Grammy nomination chatter and given the response, support, and release timeline, Forever Reign could very see the “Gennahsyde top man ” get his first nod at the 2027 awards.
