The St Andrew police have seized a Bushmaster M16 rifle along with a 9-millimeter cartridge which was buried in a yard on Delacree Lane in the parish on Monday.
Preliminary reports indicate that around 2:30 p.m., lawmen conducted an intelligence led operation in the area and uncovered the firearm and the cartridge after digging up a section of a yard.
No arrests have been made in connection with the find however, investigations are ongoing.
This seizure also comes weeks after lawmen seized a Taurus 9-millimeter firearm along with a magazine containing ten 9-millimeter cartridges.
Both items were discovered inside the bedroom of 28-year-old Neilpatrick Logan, a tiler of Lyndhurst Road on Tuesday January 3.
Logan has since been charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
