In a reflective mood, Lila Ike gets personal on her new track “Good & Great” in which she sings of her battle with depression, mental health, and many other challenges however ‘JAH’ continues to keep her safe.

The prayerful song starts with Lila giving the almighty Father thanks for blessing her even though she has fallen, the “Lord” has never forgotten about her.

She also highlighted how depressed she has been, feeling alone as if there is no one to help – even to the point where she wanted to take her own life singing “So many nights siddung and ah write and ah feel fi tek mi own life.”

However, throughout the song, she sings about GOD being her light through all her dark days.

The official video was released today, December 15, and captures several dancehall artistes who have been publicly battling with mental health challenges.

Jahshii who has been having one of his most difficult years, from criminal allegations to news that his brother was killed, a hospital scare and so much more. He is seen in Lila’s “Good & Great” video jamming to the prayerful song and embracing love from the other artistes.

Also, “Mad Out” deejay Valiant is seen throughout the video enjoying the song and reflecting while enjoying food, drinks, and conversations with friends.

Lila’s mentor Protoje is also featured as he gives his stamp of approval for the song.

He classifies the song as “Gospel” and wrote under Lila’s IG’s post about the song that he is “Eternally grateful.”

The artiste has so far received positive feedback from several other artistes and public figures and fans alike.

“Good & Great” has racked up over 5k views.
