Upcoming reggae star Kxng Izem who is popular among college students and the local reggae circle has released the official video for his latest single “Good Prayer” a song he wrote during a time of uncertainty.

The IslandWav and Ten24 project according to Kxng Izem came as “I reflected on the journey, the struggles and the blessings this song came to me and I poured everything I was thinking and feeling in it and we decided to add it to the project as the last song.”

For Izem, he faced low moments which had him feel as though “hope was gone” and he also experienced days of hunger and self-doubt. However, the artiste said he realized that things take time and “Good Prayer” helped him, and is optimistic that the song will also help others.

The song is a part of his latest EP “Midnight” released on March 24, 2023.

Izem dropped the video for ‘Good Prayer’ Friday which was shot by JusHugh Productions who has worked on previous projects.

Kxng Izem, whose given name is Dmitri Cummings, told SLEEK that both he and JusHugh “went on phone calls and discussed the direction of the video and shared video references, etc. We wanted to create a video that’s centered around the lyric and the reflective and emotional feeling of the song and I think we did well in executing it.”

Kxng Izem first discovered his love for music at age eight and since then ‘music’ continues to be his focus.

In 2017, he wrote, recorded, and engineered his first body of work as an independent artiste titled, ’24 Eden Garden, Kingston 10′, and later in 2019, ‘Many Moods of Izem’, which was produced from his makeshift studio in his bedroom.

Izem hopes to become a renowned reggae artiste, promoting and producing positive music.
