Jason Derulo’s love affair with Jamaica

Pop singer Jason Derulo vacationed in the island over the Christmas holidays. The Savage Love singer shared photos on his official Instagram account of his visit.

He is a frequent visitor to the island and even performed at Reggae Sumfest in 2014.

Jason was born in Miami to parents who are from Haiti. His father was raised in Jamaica and his grandfather was the Haitian Ambassador to Jamaica.

In 2019, Jason’s hit song Too Hot sampled the Chaka Demus and Pliers 1993 hit Murder She Wrote

Among Jason’s hits are Savage Love (which topped the Billboard Hot 100 last October), Trumpets, Swalla, Want to Want Me, Talk Dirty, Watcha Say and Ridin Solo.

Before he got his own record deal as a solo artiste, Jason wrote and produced songs for a number of top names in the business including Sean Kingston, girl group Danity Kane, Lil Wayne, Iyaz and Lady Gaga.

Now 32 years old, Jason grew up listening to the music of Bob Marley. He is also a fan of Mavado’s music.
