Nippon Ham, a Japanese company, has put a new spin on the idea of instant noodles with their “drinkable” ramen called Boost Noodle.

The innovation is designed to allow users to consume the product with one hand by simply sucking the contents out of a small pouch.

It’s reported that the recently launched product is described as a type of hearty pork ramen targeted mainly at gamers and designed to increase the convenience of having a quick meal without breaking from their activity.

Boost Noodle consists of a special type of “yam noodles, chashu pork, menma (fermented bamboo shoots), and a mix of pork stock and seafood broths, with each pack also containing 35 milligrams of caffeine.”

According to Nippon Ham, the idea was pitched by an employee who was heavily into playing video game-play for extended hours.

The employee/gamer noted that the presence of a niche for such a product exists, with the product marketed as a” hearty” alternative to protein bars and jerky strips for dedicated gamers who wanted to save time in preparing a meal.

Although designed primarily with gamers in mind, Boost Noodle is also marketed to persons who want a filling snack without pausing from their activities.
