Daughter number two is on the way for Tennis Legend Serena Williams and Husband Alexis Ohanian, as the sporting icon shared the gender of their unborn child following a reveal party on Monday.
The couple, who announced that they were expecting their second child in May, shared a video on the tennis star’s YouTube channel documenting the “baby shower slash gender reveal” event.
The Adventure-themed “shower” climaxed with an elaborate ariel light show, using drones to unveil the sex of their child.
The 23-time grand slam champion gave birth to her first child Alexis Olympia Ohanian in 2016 before her return to tennis in 2020.
Last year, Williams revealed her intention to “evolve” away from the sport to focus on expanding her family and other passions.
In an essay, she said that Olympia often expressed her want for a sibling, noting that she felt it was “a moment [she] needed to listen very carefully to.”
She also shared how torn she was in retiring, adding: “Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family.
Williams also noted that she felt more complete choosing to expand her family than her tennis resume.
