Instagram users will now be able to personalise their profile pages with music as part of the latest update to the social media platform.

Instagram announced the new feature via their page on Thursday.

The updated profile customisation is being compared to the feature of the popular 2000s social media platform “Myspace”.

To add a song, users must navigate to their profile on Instagram and tap “edit profile” scrolling down, there should be a new “Music” option in the list. Users can then tap to add and search for their desired song or artiste.

Following song selection, a 30-second clip will be suggested similar to the process when adding a song to an Instagram Reel or Story. After tapping “done,” the song will appear on your profile.

To change or remove a song, tap on the song on your profile, and a menu will pop up, allowing you to discard the song or switch it to a new one.
