Finland Prime Minister Sanna Marin, has reportedly taken a drug test following backlash she has received from a leaked video of her dancing with friends , according to Finnish public broadcaster YLE.

“In recent days, there have been quite serious accusations in the public domain that I have used narcotics. I consider these accusations to be very serious and weighty.”

The Finnish PM reportedly stated : “For my own legal protection — although I consider the demand for a drug test unreasonable — in order to erase such doubts, I have today taken a drug test.”

This test comes hours after she agreed to the idea of taking a test to reassure the public of her maintained standing of integrity. “ I have no problem taking tests, she said “but I do find it strange that evidence of anything has been used anywhere” she commented while speaking to reporters prior.

Marin who became the country’s youngest ever leader at 34-years has been under scrutiny in the past for going to concerts and parties. Her critics assert that her activities are not necessarily aligned with that of a leader for the country.

The 36-year-old did however express disappointment not only in the criticism but also that the footage was leaked to public.

“These videos are private and filmed in a private space. I resent that these became known to the public,” Marin said.

Opposition MP Mikko Karna, is reported to have tweeted the idea of a drugs test be carried out on Marin on Thursday which floated along the pond of insinuation .

Assertions which were flatly rejected by Marin, who admitted that alcohol was present however was unaware of any other substances during her presence.
