A probe has been launched by detectives in the St Catherine North division after a highway robbery of millions of dollars worth of Red Stripe Beer.
SLEEK understands that approximately six million dollars worth of beer being transported by a driver was hijacked last Thursday afternoon.
This after men posing as police summoned the driver to stop about 5:30 p.m. along the Edward Seaga Highway.
After reportedly following the directive of the men, a third player arose and assisted in handcuffing the driver before moving away with the trailer packed with the goods.
The driver was abducted and later released. Reports are that the trailer head was later found in Spanish Town area.
The container was found on the weekend in the Bernard Lodge area however, the goods have not been located.
Investigations are ongoing.
