Former US President Donald Trump officially returned to X(formerly known as Twitter) on Monday and is set to be interviewed live by platform owner Elon Musk tonight.

Trump’s account which has been inactive since 2023, marked his return with a campaign Ad in the morning.

He then retweeted a post about the interview with Musk by his campaign team before sharing the post directly hours later.

Following the Capitol Hill riot in 2021, Trump’s account was banned from the site.

Twitter said then that it was “permanently” suspending his account because of the threat of further violence, in line with decisions at other platforms such as Facebook, as per The Independent.

Shortly after Elon Musk took over Twitter, in late 2022, Mr Trump’s account was reinstated.

Despite being reinstated by Musk following his takeover in 2022, Trump created his own platform- “Truth Social” posting to Twitter once since.
