NBA championship-chasing team, the Brooklyn Nets, returned to winning ways with a narrow 129-121 victory over the Indiana Pacers at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indiana, on Wednesday night.

The game which saw the return of NBA all-star Kyrie Irving, lived up to the hype as it provided end-to-end entertainment before ending in a hard-fought win for Brooklyn.

Irving, who drew much of the spotlight coming into the game, showed his pedigree, dropping 22-points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists, to show he has not missed a beat despite being out of action for over four months.

As impressive as Irving’s comeback was, the night belonged to his teammate Kevin Durant. The two-time finals MVP was in imperious form netting 39 ‘buckets’ in the game to go with his 7 rebounds and 8 assists just two shy-off a double-double night for KD. They both got support from James Harden 18-points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Despite Domantas Sabonis and Lance Stephenson having 30-point nights, it was in a losing cause as the quality of Brooklyn’s roster proved to be the factor.

The result means the Nets earn their 24th win of the season, while Indiana is condemned to their 25th loss of the campaign.

Other results of the day saw Detroit Pistons get stung by Charlotte Hornets 140-114, Oklahoma City Thunder silenced by the Minnesota Timberwolves 98-90 and the Dallas Mavericks upset the Golden State Warriors 99-82.
