Reports asserts that; Mandal did not possess a valid passport to visit India legally, hence her alternative travel arrangements.
Fueled by the passion of her love, she was clearly undaunted by this hurdle and opted to embark on the arduous and illegal journey into the neighboring country to meet her beau.
Its understood that once she met with her love identified only as Abhik in the Kaikhali village, West of the Bengals’ South 24 Parganas district, the couple then quickly drove to Kolkata and tied the knot at the Kalighat Temple.
Just when they though the fairytale-like story was heading towards a happy ending, news of the ordeal went viral online attracting attention of local law enforcement.
Mandal was subsequently taken into custody, on Monday for crossing into the country illegally and may be handed over the Bangladesh High Commission.
Authorities are reportedly still in deliberations on how to proceed.
