The Florida police have confirmed that a baby died after her parents left her in a car for hours while they attended a church service, in Palm Bay.

The police say they responded to a report of an unconscious infant in a car at about 1 p.m. on May 28, when the temperature recorded that day was 86 degrees.

According to Michael Roberts, a public information officer with the Palm Bay Police Department, the 11-month-old had been left in the car for about three hours while her parents attended a church service.

The infant was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
