A woman in Mobile, Alabama, was slapped with several charges by law enforcement after two kilograms of cocaine was found in the backpack of a three-year-old at her home.

According to reports, the disturbing discovery was made after an investigation at the home of Tierra T. Hill,35, following intelligence she had drugs at her residence. Multiple children were said to be present at the premises, including the three-year-old who was wearing a backpack with the cocaine.

Hill was subsequently charged with four counts of chemical endangerment of a child, as per Complex News.

She also faces “trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana second-degree” charges in addition to offences relating to evidence tampering.

The charges stem from a March 31 traffic stop in which Hill was found in possession of narcotics and a firearm.

In a media update, Sheriff Paul Burch described the situation as “reckless and absurd,” per WALA.

“It is absurd how reckless this situation was. There was a total disregard for the law and the children’s well-being. … There are a lot of possibilities that could have occurred had the children ingested any of the cocaine or been exposed to it. Then you got these young children that have handguns in their reach as well.
