Music streaming giant Spotify is upping the perks for its non-subscribers, as it now allows free users to pick and play specific songs for free.

Spotify shared the changes in a company blog post on Monday, noting that it’s now allowing non-paying users to play any track or podcast by searching directly for it on the app. A feature that was previously exclusive to the paid tier and Spotify Premium.

The Swedish company noted that an estimated 60% of its 606 million users, or 340 million, are non-paying base customers, with 276 million paid subscribers, as of a July statement.

The free experience, however, still has its limitations. ‘Non-subs’ will be allotted an “on-demand time,” which will be capped once a daily limit is reached, and they will have to abide by Spotify’s previous limited skips per hour rule, a Spotify spokesperson told TechCrunch, as per Mashable.
