Prime Minister, Andrew Holness announced the appointment of three “distinguished” individuals to pivotal positions within the Government on Monday.
The new appointees are Audrey V. Sewell, as the Cabinet Secretary, Ambassador Rocky Ricardo Meade, as Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, and Arlene Williams as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.
The Prime Minister in a statement said these individuals are tasked “to improve service delivery and efficiency in government… to ensure the significant gains made by the Administration is feat by Jamaicans from all walks of life.”
The statement noted that Sewell brings 40 years of public service experience and a wealth of experience along with exceptional qualifications for her new role as Cabinet Secretary.

She currently serves as the Permanent Secretary in both the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation and throughout her career, the statement says, “she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the development of Jamaica through her exceptional leadership and dedication.”
The statement also notes that Ambassador Dr. Rocky Meade brings nearly four decades of exemplary leadership experience to his new role as Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister.

He currently serves as Ambassador Plenipotentiary with responsibility for National Strategic Initiatives, where he plays a crucial part in coordinating and advising the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, where necessary, on matters of national strategic significance.
Throughout his distinguished career, Ambassador Meade led various significant initiatives with impact at the organization, national, and international levels.
Ambassador Meade will also retain his role of Ambassador for National Strategic Initiatives.
Meanwhile, the statement says Mrs. Arlene Williams brings a diverse range of expertise to her new role as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.

She comes with a wealth of experience in various government ministries and departments and has been instrumental in spearheading major capital projects and overseeing significant spending in the Ministry of National Security/Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
These appointments, become effective August 1, 2023.
