Two persons were arrested on drug-related offenses in South Carolina after Anderson County deputies discovered more than 1,500 grams of cocaine concealed behind a fake pregnant belly during a traffic stop along Interstate 85 recently.

According to reports, the lawmen pulled over Anthony Miller and Cemeka Mitchem along Interstate 85 during what police said was a “proactive patrol.”

The pair caught the deputies’ attention after the vehicle they were driving was seen zigzagging through traffic along the Interstate, narrowly missing a collision with an 18-wheeler, the sheriff’s office said.

Following the stop, officers, noting Micthem’s pregnant appearance, became suspicious after the two gave conflicting ‘delivery dates’ when quizzed about the purported pregnancy while being questioned separately.

Mitchem, upon realizing the lawmen grew increasingly suspicious of their story, “immediately took off running, and very quickly drugs fell from the fake rubber stomach,” the Sheriff’s Department said.

The Department added that upwards of “1500 grams of cocaine” was confiscated during their cleaning of the scene.
