Back-to-back: Wayne Wonder celebrates another gold plaque

After waiting decades to receive gold certification Wayne Wonder now has two plaques in a matter of weeks for his 2003 smash “No letting go”.

Just 10 days after celebrating the track’s Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified gold status for the equivalent of 500,000 units sold in the US, the veteran crooner remains on a high, after receiving his second plaque for the song on Saturday, this time from the UK

 According the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) UK’s gold status certifies that the track has officially registered in excess of 400,000 in sales in that country.

Wonder took to Instagram once more to share the news of his back-to-back weeks of success;

“One ☝🏼 more CERTIFIED GOLD – NO LETTING GO🎼🎼.. I just want to thank all the UK 🇬🇧 DJ’S, MY FANS AND MY ENTIRE TEAM FOR THE SUPPORT ❤️🙏🏾! Big up” he captioned a picture of himself and his plaques.”

The Lenky produced song which became a mainstream cross over hit in 2003 was one of several charting smashes on the iconic Diwali riddim.

The single which also on his Grammy nominated album ‘No holding back’ song peaked at 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number three in the United Kingdom. 11.

It also charted at eight on US Rhythmic, seven on Rap Singles, and 14 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.
