Infant school children in Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ West Central St Andrew constituency will benefit from 700 electronic devices that were handed over on Friday at the Jamaica/China Goodwill Infant School on Olympic Way.

Holness’ Positive Jamaica Foundation and PrintWare Online Jamaica Limited contributed to the donations, with both splitting the cost equally.

In making the presentation, Holness said the devices were a continuation of his efforts to have students within the constituency having the ability to access classes online.

He stated that the constituency’s students in Grades 4-5 in primary school and those in Grade 10-11 in high school have already received devices.

He said the primary schools’ students are preparing for the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) exam and those in high school are getting ready for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exam.

According to Holness, the time is now right for the infant school children.

“The need had to be met. Infants require tremendous educational stimulation especially now where distance learning has become the new norm,” he said.
