20 illegal firearms found first 12 days of 2021

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is reporting that 20 illegal firearms have been seized since the start of the new year.

With just 12 days on record in 2021, the JCF say they are reaping success in riding the streets of the weapons and disrupting gang activities.

In a post to the official JCF Twitter @JamaicaConstab last evening, the revelation was made.

According to the JCF, 20 illegal firearms and over 190 rounds of ammunition have been seized by the Security Forces during #Surge Operations since the beginning of the year.

The police also reiterated that cash is being offered for useful information.

The police said there is a reward for information leading the seizure of firearms and ammunition offered through Crime Stop Jamaica @CSJAMAICA

The police did not disclose the make of the guns seized.

Meanwhile, more 20 people have been killed since the start of the new year.

One of the latest gun murders is that of four-year-old Chloe Brown was shot to death in the parish of Trelawny yesterday.
