Jamaican based creative movement, ZRISE, has announced the launch of the early access program for their platform, Z-link, a digital platform for Caribbean content creators to earn directly through their social media network regardless of its size.
ZRISE is committed to nurturing the ecosystem of Caribbean Creators through different digital platforms such as Z-link.
On Saturday the 26th of March, ZRISE had its official launch ceremony where they announced that creators are free to sign up for the early access program of Z-link. The ceremony was held at the Fidelity Motors showroom in Downtown, Kingston and streamed virtually via Zoom and YouTube.
The evening’s proceedings saw greetings from the Hon. Alando Terrelonge, MA, MP – Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture, Entertainment, Gender and Sports. The Minister commended the ZRISE team for their work and echoed the call for young creators to get on board. The Minister also gave remarks about the rise of NFTs and blockchain technology, its impact on the creative sector and the need for local creatives to begin capitalizing on these opportunities.
The ceremony was also graced with greetings from Sandra Glasgow, the Managing Director of Jamaica’s first virtual business incubator – RevUp Caribbean – and the Co-founder of Jamaica’s first angel investor network – First Angels Ja. RevUp Caribbean is an incubator for high growth potential start-ups and the Founder of ZRISE – Jean-Claude Walters Dunn is a member of the incubator’s very first cohort.
The Founders in RevUp are being mentored and trained by local and international industry experts and seasoned professionals on how to grow a business from start-up to scale. A select few members from the cohort will also move to pitch to First Angels Ja in a bid to secure angel investment for their company. First Angels to date has invested over USD $2.6m – over JMD $400m – in start-ups within the region.
The ceremony was hosted by Miss Kingston and St Andrew Festival Queen 2021 – Tamoy Campbell. She was first joined by Lorena Menjivar, a prominent influencer from El Salvador who also serves as a media journalist, TV Host and entertainment reporter. Lorena spoke to how Creators can build and earn from a multinational social media brand.

Subsequently, Tamoy engaged Alisha Thorpe – a fast rising local content creator and model; Kadia Francis – a digital literacy and skills development specialist, strategist and Founder of Digital Jamaica; and Jevaughn Gordon – an upcoming media producer and social influencer. They spoke on the struggling reality of Caribbean Creators who are trying to monetize their social networks and how Z-link can be positioned as the ideal solution to all their pains.

Up next was a discussion led by the Founder, Jean-Claude, where he sat with Trinidadian born Alexia James – a Global Marketer and Digital strategist – and Bonito Thompson – a Jamaican AR artist and Founder of DonDada. Both guests are immersed within the NFT space of the Caribbean and so the conversation was around how Caribbean Creators can use NFTs to build and earn from their brand and community.

All in all, the sentiments expressed through the different sessions, all pointed towards the need for platforms that are not only educating and empowering Caribbean Creators – but are also enabling them to earn directly from content creation. As you can expect, that’s what ZRISE is here for and that is the mission they are committed to achieving with the rise of Z-link.
With that being said, if you are a content creator seeking to earn directly from your content – regardless of the size of your social network – then feel free to visit zrise.co/z-link and sign up for the early access program of Z-link.
This is an opportunity to connect to the ecosystem of Caribbean creators and collaborate to earn directly from content creation and your social network.
